SARS Filing Season 2026: What Our Clients Need to Know

Published by Peet Pieterse

June 18, 2026

With the 2026 SARS Filing Season now underway, I wanted to take a moment to share the key dates and explain how the PPHC Global team will be supporting you through the process this year.

The Key Dates

SARS has confirmed that auto-assessments are being issued between 1 and 12 July 2026. If you don’t receive an auto-assessment notification, the window for submitting your own personal income tax return (ITR12) opens shortly after. Even if SARS issues an auto-assesment it is still your responsibility to review this for accuracy (we can assist you with this if needed)

Non-provisional individual taxpayers have until 23 October 2026 to file. Provisional taxpayers and trusts have a longer window, running through to 22 January 2027. These deadlines apply whether you file yourself or through us, so it’s worth diarising them now.

How to Get Your Information to Us

Please send through your supporting documents and information as soon as you have them ready, there’s no need to wait for a specific date from our side. The earlier we receive your information, the smoother and more accurate your submission will be.

If we haven’t yet received your documents, our team will begin reaching out directly to follow up with you during August, to make sure nothing falls through the cracks as the season progresses.

When We’ll Start Submitting

To allow time for proper review and to manage the volume of returns across our client base, we will commence SARS submissions from August onward. If you have a specific reason for needing an earlier submission, simply let us know and we’ll prioritise your return accordingly.

As always, our goal is to make this process as smooth and stress-free as possible for you. Should you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.

Warm regards,

The PPHC Global Team
